The Wenchi Traditional Council led by its Acting President, Nana Asimpi Adinkra Kosopre III, has inspected ongoing road projects in the area to see for themselves the level of work done so far.

The Wenchi Traditional Council led by its Acting President, Nana Asimpi Adinkra Kosopre III, has inspected ongoing road projects in the area to see for themselves the level of work done so far.

The Council was accompanied by the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable. Alexander Obour Damoah and the Bono Regional Ghana Highways Director, Harmon Atobra Acheampong, and other officials from the Municipal Assembly.

The visit afforded them to interact with the technical engineering team of the project.

The Council applauded the contractor for the speedy work and did show appreciation to the government for fulfilling another dear wish of the people of Wenchi.

Nana Akoratua Twum Kyeremeh Siasaa Kuffour, the Twafohene of Wenchi Traditional Area who spoke on behalf of the traditional council expressed was satisfaction with the level of work being done by the contractor.

At the time of the visit, the construction work on the roads was aggregate base level.
 The aggregate base is made up of crushed stone or gravel and it is placed evenly on the road surface.

Nana Akoratua Twum Kyeremeh Siasaa Kuffour IV appealed to the government through the Ghana Highways Authority to speed up work to tare the roads to save the people from dust.

Touching on other areas, the Council also appealed to the government to construct a dual carriage road from Nkosia to Awisa to enable free vehicular movement.
They also want the Wenchi Ofuman road contract to be terminated from feeder roads and be given to the Ghana Highways Authority.

The Traditional Council pledged its support to the MCE to develop the area.

Honorable Alexander Obour Damoah commended the council for the inspection and pledged to work together with the council to champion the development of the area.

He also commended the contractor for the work done so far.

The team inspected ten kilometers of roads undertaken by Progressive Modern Construction (PMC) Africa Limited.

The project was the construction of a culvert at Gofo stream on the Wenchi - Texhiman Highway,500 meters road construction at Low-cost, Gensoso, Bogdan, Ahenfie.

Other roads which were inspected were Wenchi - Ofuman road and the Wenchi - Wa  - anoma.

Chief Executive Officer of PMC Africa Limited, Alhaji Abdallah Ahmed Abdallah is popularly known as Alhaji PMC said 95% off of work on the roads has been completed hoping that he will tar the roads within two to four weeks.

He, therefore, commended the Wenchi Traditional Council for their moral support and pledged to do good work for the people of Wenchi in a befitting status.
