A man believed to be in his 100 years; Kwasi Nyame, affectionately Agya Gurusi has been hit to death with a pounding stick by his wife at Kyenkyenase, a farming community in the Dormaa East District of the Bono Region.
Agya Gurusi was hit in the head by his wife Maame Gurusi, a 64-year-old at about 8:30 am Wednesday, July 14 out of a misunderstanding that ensued between them in the evening.
An eyewitness Afia Gurusi speaking to Soireeenews explained that she saw the couple quarrelling and tried to stop them but was unable to separate them but out of nowhere, she saw Maame Gurusi, wife of the deceased took their pounding stick to hit the man in the head.
He collapsed and was later confirmed dead.
Confirming the incident to Soiree News, Assemblymember for the Area Honourable Peter Adutwum said the incident was reported to the Dormaa East Police and the suspect Maame Gurusi was arrested and the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital mortuary for further investigation.
DSP Kwasi Asante, the Dormaa East District Police Commander confirmed the arrest to Soiree saying the police is investing the matter.
