The Acting District Chief Executive for the Jaman North district Honorable Adane Ankoma has said that Ghanaians must make themselves available to be counted in the ongoing population and housing census to ensure development in their communities and the country at large.

During the census night celebration at Sampa, the Jaman North district capital, the DCE stated that the population census was to be conducted in 2020 but postponed due to the negative effects inflicted on the country by the covid-19 pandemic.

He admonished that, the program is not on political basics hence Ghanaians must do away with politicisation of the census and make they available for counting because the government will base on the size of the population of a district or the country to determine the level of developmental projects to be implemented.

He advised the citizens in the district and the country to provide the necessary answers to the questions that would be asked by the census officers.

The Member of Parliament for Jaman North constituency Honorable Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick added that the census is being financed with a huge amount of money which indicates how important the census is in the development of the country.

He stressed that government base on the census to formulate policies and plans to develop the country.

He added that the condition of the various district, municipal and metropolitans can be change from bad to good base on the population and the necessary information that will be communicated to the census officers hence we must all make ourselves available to be counted for the benefit of the entire citizens in the country.
