Kissi Agyeabeng and Rtd. Kwadwo Damoah
The Communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Jaman North Constituency, Mr. Adu Joshua, has opined that it is important of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to relieve the Head of Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Rtd. Kwadwo Damoah off duty from his duty post.
This, according to him, would pave way for the Special Prosecutor, Mr Kissi Agyeabeng to intensify the investigations into the corruption and corruption related activities tagged against the Labianca group of companies in tax waiver to guarantee the fair and balanced outcome.
Speaking on the Adwenkyere programme on Gye Nyame FM chaired by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, the communications officer indicated that President Akufo-Addo has the appointment and the revocation power hence the need for him to suspend all activities of Col. Kwadwo Damoah as Boss of the Customs Division of GRA to ensure that that vivid investigation is conducted into the Labianca saga to accelerate the corruption fight in the country as a wish for the president.
He reiterated that there will be no better outcome in this fight against Labianca corruption-related activities since the needed support is not offered to the Special Prosecutor.
He indicated that the President's quest to establish the office of the special prosecutor can only yield positive outcomes if he acts in support of the Office of the special prosecutor by ensuring all alleged corrupt persons are thoroughly investigated for a required penalty to be set against them.
But in quick response, the Communications officer of the NPP in the Jaman North constituency ,Mr. Eric Dabie condemned the reactions and statements of Col. Kwadwo Damoah toward the Special Prosecutor.
But he called on the Special prosecutor to ensure that all his findings are factual and genuine before coming out with any information to make his work a complete one.
Mr. Dabie stressed that no one is above the laws of the land but the laws must be applied in the right medium, therefore Mr. Agyabeng must ensure a comprehensive investigation into any corruption and corruption-related cases before the release of the outcome.
