The Acting President of the Aowin Traditional Council in the Aowin municipality of Western North Region, Nana Kojo Sikanta II, has called on the citizens of the area to bring their traditional and chieftaincy matters to the judicial committee of the Council to ensure proper settlement in order to bring sustainable development and peace in the area.

“We want to declare to the people of Aowin and beyond that the Aowin Traditional Council is officially opened for business.
“We therefore entreat government and state institutions to deal directly with the Traditional Council and not the unconstitutional Aowin Paramount,” Nana Kojo Sikanta II who doubles as the Nefahene of Aowin Traditional Area stressed.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews. com, Nana Kojo Sikanta II stated that the Aowin Traditional Council has held its first general meeting in three-and-a-half years, following the settlement of chieftaincy disputes in the area.

He mentioned that the historic meeting was held at EnchiKokwado.
He said: “We want to declare to the people of Aowin and beyond that the Aowin Traditional Council now is officially opened for business and we thank all persons, who played various roles in ensuring the success of this milestone.”
He called on government and institutions to deal directly with the traditional council in order not to fall victim to persons posing as representatives of the Council to dupe unsuspecting members of the public.

He assured that his outfit would continue to contribute its quota towards the promotion of peace, development and tranquility within its jurisdiction and beyond, adding that the feat attained had proven that indeed “patience makes way for good things to happen.”
The Aowin Traditional Council was established under the Chieftaincy Act 759 and an independent body mandated by law to oversee and administer issues relating to traditions and customs in the Aowin area, in the Western North Region
