The family of the late Agnes Kisi Sarpomah, aka Akosua Addai, were stranded at the Anglo-Gold Ashanti hospital in Obuasi after they went to take their deceased mother for burial.

The late Akosua Addai 70, who hails from Asmama in the Bosome Freho district of the Ashanti region was sent to the AGA health foundation for treatment after suffering from unknown sickness on April 29, 2021, but unfortunately, lost her life on 2nd May 2021.

Dr Vincent Appiah, the medical doctor who took care of the deceased underlined three sicknesses which he said was major that led to her demise.

In an engagement by Dr Appiah with the family of the late Akosua Addai after her demise said, their beloved lost her life through Respiratory Failure but stated that COVID-19 or Pneumonia might also be the cause of her death on 5th of May 2021.

Media engagement with Baffour Kyei, son of the deceased Akosua Addai,  said, they were asked to pay all the supposed bills including hospital bills and the mortuary bills as well which they did exactly so.

He added that the final funeral rite was scheduled for since they were assured by the hospital to come for the lifeless body on Friday, August 20 but was denied later by the hospital Authority.

He concluded by saying since the family have spent a lot on the preparation of the final funeral rite of the deceased hence the hospital should refund their money and keep the corp in the morgue.

Philomena Addai, the first daughter of the deceased who took care of the deceased before she passed on says, the late Agnes Kisi Sarpomah went through the COVID-19 test before her mother passed on but was tested negative together with some 15 people who were included at the hospital before their beloved departed.

"If really my mother died of COVID-19, why did tested negative together with another who was with us?" she quizzed"

She is therefore pleading with the authorities to come to their aid.
