The Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene has attacked the lackadaisical attitude and poor behaviour of some teachers towards work in the region.

According to the Minister, there is nothing called African time and Greenwich Meditarian Time (GMT) hence, everyone should respect time for productivity purposes.

“I have been professional since 1995 and I still count myself as one of you. Please let us ensure that we are not late to work and also we must eschew all forms of laziness”, Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene at the presentation of laptops for teachers in the region stated.

According to the former tutor at Berekum College of Education, in line with the vision of the government, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) is supplying laptops to teachers across the country to aid teaching and learning in the country.

The Regional Minister, however, admonished beneficiaries teachers to see the teaching profession as an opportunity to serve God and country despite teething challenges confronting them currently

“Permit me to put on record and assure you that Teachers’ welfare remains the top priority of the government. The President acknowledges that teachers are the centre of every reform in the field of education. …as a result, the government introduced a professional allowance in the history of this country to motivate teachers to give out their best”, she explained
