CAF To Punish Nigerians After Doctor From Zambia Died After Fans Invade The Pitch.

The Nigerian team super Eagles may find themselves wanting after a doping doctor with the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), Dr. Joseph Kabungo has reportedly died shortly after fans invaded the pitch moments after Ghana pipped Nigeria to the 2022 World Cup on Tuesday.

Kabongo, a Zambian medical practitioner, was said to have died as a result of the stampede that occurred at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja before the start of the match.

The BBC reports that the Federation of International Football Associations would reportedly review the ugly scenes recorded at the Abuja Stadium and possible sanctions could follow suit.

Recall that angry spectators stormed the pitch shortly after the final whistle while the Ghanaian players and the technical team well still on the pitch and celebrating their passage to Qatar.

The mob attacked players with water bottles – forcing them to cower and cover their heads as they battled their way down the tunnel following a mass pitch assault.

However, per this development- seasoned Ghanaian journalist Saddick Adams aka Sports Obama has said the death of the CAF official has nothing to do with the stampede but merely coincided with it as he slumped and fell after he had a cardiac arrest while heading to his room.
