According to the official results, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the winner with 118,210 votes, representing 61.47% of the total votes cast in the NPP primaries.

THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION of Ghana has declared Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the winner in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer election.
According to the official results, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the winner with 118,210 votes, representing 61.47% of the total votes cast in the NPP primaries.
His closest contender, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, secured the second position with 71,996 votes, which accounted for 35.52% of the total valid votes.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the former Minister of Agriculture, garnered 1,459 votes, equivalent to 0.81% of the votes and Francis Addai Nimoh, another contender, polled 781 votes, representing 0.43% of the votes.
The announcement of Dr. Bawumia's win was made by the Director of Elections at the Electoral Commission, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe.
