Efia Odo has announced that the #FixTheCountry protests will kick off on the 9th of May, 2021.

The recently turned activist, because of the state of things in Ghana, has taken it upon herself to meet the concerned authorities to make sure the protests occur as a peaceful demonstration.

She took to her social media page to announce the new development.

"May 9th we are protesting! And it’s not just a one day protest. We will protest until the demand of the people is met. If it will take me a lifetime, I will not stop. I don’t talk much, just show action. We will pull up on them! #FixthecountryGhana" She wrote.

What remains to be seen however is the amount of crowd she will be able to draw.

Originally a social media campaign, the #Fixthecountry movement has still not attracted the unflinching support of heavyweights like Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie.

Individuals would gladly join up if their favourite celebrities are involved in the bid to make the country better.

With Efia Odo spearheading the movement, huge question marks remain on the strength of the turn-up.

Efia Odo however maintained that the protest would be longer than a day, so the individuals who don't turn up on the first day might eventually join up as the movement gains momentum.

The sole aim of the protest, she said, is to urge the government and the leadership of the country to do its best to improve the lives of its citizens.

This comes after Ghana Police Service revealed that it will appeal to the law court to prevent the group from demonstrating on the streets of the nation’s capital Accra after the group sent an official letter for approval from the police service to hit the streets of Accra on May 9th to protest against the government.
