Leeds came out very strongly nearing to the end of the game to record a 5-2 win against Newcastle United at Elland Road.

They overtake the Magpies on the Premier League table having collected 13 points after 13 games.

Patrick Bamford’s 35th-minute goal cancelled out Jack Hendricks opener for Newcastle before the break. Raphinha clipped in a cross from the right and was headed against the bar by Rodrigo but Bamford was there to nod into an unguarded net for his ninth in the current season.

Rodrigo was quick to give Leeds the lead 16 minutes into the second half when Harrison after receiving the Spaniard’s pass pinged it towards the penalty spot. Rodrigo followed up his pass with a dart into the box and glanced the ball into the far corner.

Four minutes later, Newcastle were levelled through Clark, who directed a corner into the back of the net for the Magpies.

Leeds took the lead again in the 77-minute through Dallas. It was a horrible mistake by Sean Longstaff as he dallied on the ball in the box. Klich crossed to the far post and it found its way to Dallas who had made the run, unchecked by Almiron, and he beat the goalkeeper.

Alioski added a fourth eight minutes later before Harrison notched the fifth for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
