No casualty was recorded in the five Communities in Kwahu West Municipality during and after the flooding but many farm produce were destroyed.

Five Communities in Kwahu West Submerged by Flood 

Five Communities in Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern Region have been submerged by flooded water after 24 hours of torrential rainfall.

The flash floods occurred on the late night of July 14 and 15th, 2021, after over 24 hours of heavy downpour.

The affected Communities are Ayigbe Town, Abrodiem, New Station, Asuogya, and Domeabra, all in the Kwahu West Municipality.

Dozens of residents were displaced. Many household properties were also destroyed and many farms were submerged by the flood.

According to residents, even though, no casualty was recorded during and after the flooding that hit the community but many farm produce were destroyed.

The victims were salvaging their losses during a visit by Soireenews.

Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization were in the communities for assessment to facilitate distribution of relief albeit shortage of relief items at the Municipal level.
