School building has its roofs removed by heavy wind

Residents of Sefwi-Asafo and some villages within the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality in the Western North region were troubled by a heavy rainstorm which has affected more than 200 houses including school buildings and a palace, with thousands of properties destroyed.

Speaking to Soireenews regional correspondent in the Western North, Natty Bongo, some of the affected residents explained they had to ask for a place to lay their heads among their fellows whiles others encamped in churches and mosques to pass the night.

The headmaster of  Sefwi Asafo M/A junior high School, Mr Owusu Bernard stated that the rainstorm has caused lots of damages to the school suggested that the school must closedown temporary till for renovation works to be done on their building which has become a death trap.

That's notwithstanding, the acting municipal chief executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Honorable Louis Owusu Agyepong together with the  National Disaster Management Organization(NADMO)  branch of Western North visited the scene respectfully to morn with them and assured that the assembly will do anything better to support the affected residents with immediate effects.
