HONORABLE ABDUL-MUMIN ISSA (MCE FOR STMA) MUST BE SACKED OUTRIGHT

The Youth For Action-W/R has taken notice of a video and audio circulating on both Social and mainstream media involving the M.C.E for Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly and a police officer who was legitimately discharging his duties on the highways close to the Kwesimintsim Cemetery.

It is disheartening to see the head of the Metropolitan Security Council in the person of an M.C.E  behaving in such a lawless and unruly manner by breaking road traffic laws and further threatening a law enforcer who was determined to enforce the law regardless of who was involved.

The unprintable language, verbal abuses and to some extent the physical abuse meted out to the police officer need to be condemned in no uncertain terms.

The M.C.E by all standards exhibited *HIGH LEVEL OF INDISCIPLINE* and lacked *EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE* which is uncharacteristic of a leader who occupies such a high office.

This is a man full of arrogance,  disrespect,  insults, indiscipline, a man full of the use of vulgar language, discrimination and pride,  and should not be entertained at all.

This is an  MCE who insulted, maligned and vilified the sensibilities of the Chiefs and people of Enchi as if there is no better person or nothing better can come from that part of Ghana.  How can one be so discriminatory and inconsiderate?

A careful review of the video and audio recordings on the incident that involved the embattled Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Abdul Mumin Issah and a cop, indicates that the MCE is very abreast with Ghanaian street language.

This is because, aside from threatening to “change your situation” and transfer the Police Officer to Enchi (213km from Sekondi-Takoradi), Mr Issah retorted, “Apuu!!!” when the Police officer referred to himself as a whole Police officer’ in reaction to a “stupid” remark by the MCE.

The suspension by the President through the Local Government Minister may be a decision aimed at watering down the anger of people for some time and later reinstating him.

The President, as a matter of urgency, should sack Hon. Abdul Mumin Issa as the MCE for STMA. As things stand,  Youth For Action- W/R can only deduce that the suspension is of no significant effect, because the embattled M.C.E will continue to draw salaries and still enjoy some privileges that come with the office, including staying in the official government bungalow.

Failure by the president to do the needful will suggest to all and sundry that, he only pays lips service to important issues and will encourage other officers of this government to also misbehave and abuse their offices anyhow and without any sense of caution.

*SACK ABDUL-MUMIN ISSAH NOW!*
