Kwame Owen Frimpong, Darling Boy Joins NDC Parliamentary Race In Lower West Akim Constituency --Promises To Win The Seat For NDC In 2024 Polls

A 48-year-old Ghanaian entrepreneur, Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong who is affectionately called Darling Boy has officially announced his intention to contest the parliamentary primaries on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Lower West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region.

Mr Frimpong who is owner of the Bridavis Shipping Company Limited, Bridavis Cleaning Services and Bridavis Car Rental Company, stressed the need for the delegates, members and supporters of the NDC to vote massively for me to win the incoming NDC parliamentary primaries in order to win the seat for them in order to lead the party to wrestle the Lower West Akim constituency parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party NPP Member of Parliament (MP).

"I am promising the members and executives of the NDC in the area that when the party opens the nomination l would come to pick the forms to fill and submit to contest the race. So lam calling on you you to support me win the NDC parliamentary primaries and lead the party to victory to win the seat in the 2024 general elections. 

"Working to win the seat from the NPP cannot be done by me alone and that we all have to play effective roles to achieve the our intended target," Mr Frimpong appealed to delegates and members of the NDC.

He pointed out that his decision to run the election was primarily based on numerous calls he generally received from, chiefs, elders and the youth of the constituency to serve and he used his officially declaration to contest the primary as an indication to answer those calls. 

Mr.Frimpong made the foregoing when he was  an interview the executives of the Lower West Akim Constituency of the NDC on Sunday, January 22, 2023 to official announce his intention to contest the primary  on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

The Darling Boy was accompanied to the office by 31st December Branch Chairman in Beposo , Mr Jewels Annan and Executives who introduced him to the house and assured him their full support and prayers

Other people who came with him include Dr Geewa, Kofi Abusuapanin, Alhaji Lawal and Benjamin Wiafe all giving their blessings and assurances.

The event which was held at the NDC's constituency office at Asamankese was graced by leading members of the party as well as the grassroots.

According to Mr Frimpong, who has been tipped by the delegates and members of the NDC in the area to win the incoming slot, he declared his intention after he has done effective consultations and engagements with the owners and elders of the party on his intentions. 

Mr Frimpong used the platform to outline his vision, which he would implement to spur the party into victory when voted to become Parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the constitueny.

Darling Boy known for his boldness, forthrightness, transparent and accountable leadership as well as strategic and innovative believes ,these vision will come into fusion .

The first point raised in his vision statement is to reenergize the NDC in the area to help secure the parliamentary seat for the NDC which has been occupied by the New Patriotic Party for the past 20 years now.

He explained that his bid to represent the constituency is a manifestation of his belief that the time has arrived for the youth to play frontal roles in the development of the area.

Tycoon explained that he is in touch with not just the base of the NDC but the youth in the constituency and that he is confident of his chances.

“This is about time that the young ones particularly myself need to step out and offer myself for leadership; leadership for Parliament. Mind you, we need to put together quality human resources to demonstrate to the world that indeed Lower West Akim has something good to offer and I have prepared myself over the period and have come to the point that after inner research and proper consultation it’s about time to step forward and ask the hands of the people to be selected as their parliamentary candidate and possibly the member of Parliament for Lower West Akim for the 2024 elections going forward.”

Owen Kwame Frimpong said that much as he recognized the good works done by present and previous MPs, he believes that the development has been slow-paced and that with him in the saddle, the development in the area will be expedited.

He noted that his entrepreneurship background will enable him establish contact and relationships with relevant stakeholders to create jobs and reduce unemployment in the area.

He appealed to delegates of the NDC to trust him with their votes, expressing that his arrival as MP will lead to total dominance of the party in the constituency.

“I Owen Kwame Frimpong who is the native of the Lower West Akim hold the view that the past and present MPs have done a good job but the pace at which we are developing is too slow.

He stressed that there is the need to inject in fresh young people with new ideas that can push for the development of Lower West Akim to a higher level.
