Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti says Real Madrid’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona was all his fault, apologizing to fans for the humiliating El Clasico loss.

January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice, with Ronald Araujo and former Manchester City star Ferran Torres getting the others.

It is not disastrous for Real, who remain nine points clear at the top of La Liga, and 12 points ahead of Barca in third, but it is a damaging result for Ancelotti’s reputation and future at the club.

However, Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his tactical plan against Barcelona that did not work.

According to Ancelotti, he prepared his team to play out from the back through Luka Modric and find space between the lines with Vinicius Jr, Federico Valverde, and Rodrygo.

However, they conceded two goals in each half to Xavi’s fast-improving side to lose 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“The plan with Modric was to try to play the ball out from the back and find space between the lines with Rodrygo, [Federico] Valverde, and Vinicius.

"It didn’t work. Sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don’t,” Ancelotti said.
