A Cape Coast Appeal court has ruled in favour of Nana Okese Essandoh to be the ninth Chief of Nkusukum Traditional Council following years of dispute.

The acting President of Nkusukum Traditional Council Nana Kwesi Breboh together with the Gyaasehene of Nkusukum Traditional Council and Nana Okese Essandoh has been battling of chieftaincy dispute for 12-years which has affected development in the various Communities within the traditional Council.

Efforts to resolve the dispute by the leaders of the Asebu Traditional Council proved futile and was later sent to Cape Coast high Court in which the case was ruled in favour of Nana Okese Essandoh IX.

The case later appeared at the Appeals Court after the complainants were not satisfied with the High Court ruling but the appeal court dismissed their case thereby pronouncing Nana Okese Essandoh IX as the rightful chief of Nkusukum Traditional Council.

After the Ruling, the Obaatan of Nkusukum Traditional Council Nana Benyin ll in an interview with Central Regional Soireenews correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful expressed gratitude and assured that the progress of Nkusukum Traditional Area is set to begin as well as exercising their cultural and customary rights through the pronouncement of a legitimate ruler by the court.
