NDC Poises To Reclaim Hohoe Parliamentary Seat From NPP's Peter Amewu

The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, Mr Samuel Ablakwa Okudzeto, when mounted the podio to deliver his goodwill message called on the supporters and members of the NDC to work hard to reclaim the Hohoe parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party.

National Democratic Congress (NPP) plans to reclaim Hohoe Constituency Parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP), Honourable Peter Amewu has yielded a very good results.
 
This manifestation was seen on Sunday June 4, 2023, when thousands of eligible voters, particularly the floating ones had came out from the various electoral areas within the Hohoe constituency in the Volta Region to show affection to the leadership of the NDC during a lecture to mark the 44th Anniversary of the June 4 uprising at Hohoe in the Volta Region, on the theme: "Saving our Democracy: The spirit of June 4

Earlier, the newly-elected Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC,Mr Mawutor Agbavitor
the rank and files of the party including the Hohoe constituency executives to work hard and rekindle trust in constituents, this to enable the NDC to retain the Hohoe constituency seat in the next election.
According to Agbavitor, he's ready and willing to offer any support that will give the NDC victory and that, wining Hohoe constituency is one of his priorities hence the need for both party executives and constituents to grind for victory.
In the 2020 elections, John Peter Amewu who was then the Energy Minister, now Railway Development Minister won the Hohoe seat with a total vote of 26,952 while Margerat Kweku who was on the ticket of the NDC got 21,821.
The result came as a surprise to the NDC because the seat is been occupied by the NDC since 1992, meanwhile some NDC supporters alleged that, there was an issue of monetization, and that influenced voting in the area.
The Hohoe constituency executives asked the leadership of the NDC to have hope in them because they'll ensure reclamation of the parliamentary seat.
