The District Director of Education, for the Nkoranza North District, Nana Takyiwaa Endurance has said that teenage pregnancy has become a hobby among the teenage girls causing its rampant increase within the area.

The District Director of Education, for the Nkoranza North District, Nana Takyiwaa Endurance has said that teenage pregnancy has become a hobby among the teenage girls causing its rampant increase within the area.


Nana Takyiwaa Endurance explained that the situation has become alarming since she took office as Director of  Education in the  District.

She said, every year, at least 15 girls of BECE candidates get pregnant before they finish their final year exams and managed to sit for their  BECE  examination papers whiles 8 candidates become nursing mothers.


“ They have to abandon their papers to attend to their babies after each paper”, stressed whiles describing the situation as worrisome.  


Nana Takyiwaa Endurance made this statement during the Busunya SDA Basic school 45th  Anniversary celebrations at  Busunya the District capital of Nkoranza  North.

The occasion was under the theme "Gearing towards holistic educational excellence and improving the infrastructural state of the school.

Mr. Donkwawe Gideon, the District SDA Pastor, Mr. Owusu Mensah the JHS Headmaster, and Mr.

 Sarpong Joshua, Primary Headmaster jointly added their voice to the celebration saying, life begins at 40 in  Busunya SDA school is 45 years now but the school lacks so many amenities to make learning and teaching very comfortable for the school such as school, furniture, and teachers accommodation.


The school authorities, therefore, made an appeal to the government and any philanthropists to come to their aid to help the school to overcome the infrastructure challenges they are facing after 45 years of education for the children in the town.

Some of the school children expressed their joy for the occasion and also called on the government and other agencies to support their school.
