Northern Region begins vetting of MMDCE's Applicants
The vetting, according to a statement signed by the Regional Secretary of NPP will end on Friday 23rd May 2021.
The vetting of Applicant's for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives positions has begun in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale.
The exercise has begun today Wednesday, 19th May 2021 at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) with applicants for the Tamale Metro, Kumbungu, and the Kpandai District being first on the bill.
The vetting, according to a statement signed by the Regional Secretary of NPP will end on Friday 23rd May 2021.
The vetting Committee is made up of five members, which includes the Regional Minister, Regional Chairman, National Representative, Members of Parliament representative and Constituency representative.
The Sagnarigu Municipality has the highest number of applicant's, with about thirty-one (31) applicant's in the race.
However, Journalists who visited the venue this morning for coverage were prevented from observing the proceedings by security Personnel stationed at the Coordinating Council.
The security when approached by the Journalists said it was an order from the party's Regional Secretary.
In view of these, Soireenews can report that the ongoing vetting is being carried out on the sideline of the media.
Meanwhile, reasons to exclude Journalists in the ongoing exercise is yet to be established by this portal.
