A delegation from the Management of State Housing Cooperation, led by the Director (SHC) Mr Kwabena Ampofo Appiah has paid a courtesy call to Okuapemhene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, at his palace in Akropong in the Eastern Region of Ghana at the Okuapemman palace.

The visit was to explore possibilities and opportunities of SHC establishing an Estate within the Akuapem range which has a very conducive organic environment and unique landscape which have the most attractive view in the country.

Even though the meeting was held behind closed doors, it was learned that the Okuapemhene was excited about the mission of the visit and pledged to support the project by identifying a suitable location for the project.

He recalled that about four decades ago, the Akuapem Traditional Council gifted the State Housing Corporation a land but the land was never developed.

Mr Kwabena Ampofo Appiah thanked him for his warm reception and noted that his technical team was all set to meet Representatives of the Traditional Council to begin deliberations towards establishing an SHC Estate.

The new management has developed a sense of collaborating with the Traditional head and has fostered relationships with chiefs who are custodians of lands in the country.

The chronological tour by the Management of STC indicates that they have visited Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Okyenhene, Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Omanhene of the Sefwi Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwasi Bumangama, and currently to Okuapehene, and have all gifted SHC with parcels of land for housing developmental projects.
