The Adiekpornya family of the six suspects  among the militants of Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) and the Western Togoland Restoration Front (WTRF) who were arrested and charged for the court in connection with blockage of roads and burning STC buses and launched an attack on the Mepe and Aveyime Police stations in the North Tongu District have passionately appealed to President  Akufo-Addo to, urgently intervene in the case by way of releasing them from Bureau of the National Investigations (BNI) cell in Accra

The six are Wisdom Viku, Lawson Viku, Gabriel Viku, Mr. David Gabianu, Williams Tsikata, and Duho David.

Consequently,  Wisdom Viku, Lawson Viku, Gabriel Viku were first arrested on Monday, February 17, 2020, whilst David Gabianu, Williams Tsikata, and Duho Davi were also currently arrested on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

What is very painful, according to the family spokesperson, Mr. Samuel was that their checks with the North Tongu District Chief Executive (DCE) who doubles as the Chairman of DISEC, Mr. Collins Arku, Commander of Aveyime Divisional Police Command and North Tongu District Bureau of the National Investigations Officer have revealed that they were not be informed of the current arrest of these persons at Battor.

They posted that these state security regulatory personalities told them (the Adiekpornya family members) that they had made phone calls to the various security offices in the region before they were told that the police officers and soldiers came to do arrest are from Aflao.

The members of the family stated that they were informed that the six persons were arrested on the tipped off by some chiefs and elders of Battor Traditional Council who had accused them of Western Togoland Militants

They explained that these elders exhibited this act ostensibly to stop these personalities who were supporting Mr. David Gabianu, who has been given power of attorney by Torgbui Adabla of Ete Clan of Battor to represent the Adiekpornya family in court in pursuance of the said land case between Adiekpornya family and Battor Traditional Council headed by Torgbui Dzekle.

The said acres of the land which was under the bone of contention was situated at Battor Manya area which is belonging to the Adiekpornya family of Battor.

According to the troubled family, their call on President Akufo-Addo who is the commander-in-chief of the Ghana Army Force (GAF) to intervene in the case was necessary because the six persons are not among the real secessionist groups who had committed the heinous crime.

They reiterated that the six persons were unlawfully arrested based on the wrong accusations leveled against them by some chiefs and elders of Battor Traditional Council because of the said land litigation.

They claimed that prosecution was not properly done and they believed that the immediate intervention by the presidency can go a long way to help set the six innocent personalities free.

A spokesperson for the family insisted that the six were innocent, stressing that their critics concocted blatant lies against them.

He said when the chiefs and elders of the Battor Traditional Council realized that the documents tendered in Ho High Court by Mr. David Gabienu and his team are bigger than them, they pleaded for the case to be settled out of court and the two parties came to an agreement to that effect.

'Suddenly, we were shocked that those elders had turned up to lie against Mr. David Gabienu and his team who are supporting him in court that they were also the Volta ‘Rebels’and eventually the police came to arrest them on Saturday, March 6, 2021, and take them to the BNI cell in Accra.

"So we are calling on President Akufo-Addo to order for the probe into the matter to ensure that justice is served to the six innocent persons," he concluded.
