The exercise by the Police in the Bono Region is to adhere to the President of Ghana's covid-19 directive.

As part of measures to enforce the wearing of nose mask, the Bono Police have introduced operation no mask, no entry in the region.

The exercise is to ensure that all persons entering the region strictly adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Thirteen more people in the country have died from the pandemic, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported.

Ghana's covid-19 total cases as of today is 63,883 with 59,553 recoveries and 390 deaths.

Following the upsurge, President Akufo Addo in his 22nd address to the Nation instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to direct security personnel to enforce the laws on mask-wearing at all public places.

This has compelled the police to arrest offenders of the directive.

Meanwhile, the police hierarchy says a total of 951 culprits have been arrested and are being arraigned before court.

The police have called on local authorities to enforce the law to help curb the spread of the virus.
