Rent Control warns landlords from increasing rent fee without picking forms from their office
The Rent Manager at the Department of Rent Control Emmanuel Awusi Wilson revealed that section 19 of the Rent Control Act states that landlords are required to pick forms from their office and state the reason for the increment.

Bono Regional Manager at the Department of Rent Control, Emmanuel Awusi Wilson has said landlords are prohibited from increasing rent fee without picking form from their office.
Speaking with Kwabena Obeng Akrofi on Ark in the Morning monitored by Soiree News Nana Ama Asiedu, the Rent Manager revealed that section 19 of the Rent Control Act states that landlords are required to pick forms from their office and state the reason for the increment.
They would not support any landlord who does not have a tangible reason for increasing rent.
‘‘Rent control, like all other government-mandated price controls, has a law placing a maximum price, or a “rent ceiling,” on what landlords may charge tenants.
"If it is to have any effect, the rent level must be set at a rate below that which would otherwise have prevailed’’
He again expressed worry over how some landlords have been worrying students in the Regional capital.
With this issue, he called on the students to always seek help from his office.
