Sex worker murders young man after refusal to pay for services

Residents in New Town, an area in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region are living in fear after the gruesome murder of a young man by some criminals believed to be robbers and commercial sex workers.

A bitter report reaching Soireenews indicates that the man yet to be identified met his untimely death after some angry commercial sex workers attacked and beat him to death for refusing to pay them their monies after sleeping with one of them.

Information gathered reveals that the man got the service of one of the slay queens throughout the whole night and refused to pay which triggered her and colleagues to deal with him.

Per the information, after the man refused to pay one sex worker, she called her other fellows to help her ‘punish’ him which led to him falling unconscious and later losing his life.

The situation has put residents in the area to fear as they fear living in the midst of miscreants and criminals. They are however calling the police to as a matter of urgency address the issue of security in Sunyani New Town as they lament over continuous criminal activities.

Assembly Member for the Newtown Akokora Kwadwomu Electoral Area, Hon. Osei Yaw stressed the rampant crime in the area has been posing a security threat to his residents. He wants the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), Chief and Stakeholders in the Municipality to join forces in addressing the issue.

Meanwhile, upon interactions with the Sunyani District Police Command, they disclosed that they have since arrested one of the sex workers and the landlord, who is said to be physically challenged, to aid investigations.

The house, where the incident happened, has since been locked up.

The body of the deceased has since been sent to the Sunyani Regional Hospital morgue for autopsy.
