Doryumu And Shai Landowners Affected By Construction Of Tema- Mpakadan Railway Line Project Chase Out Akufo-Addo--Over Nonpayment Of their Compensation Packages
HUNDREDS of landowners, mostly aged, with members spread across the Shai State in the Greater Accra Region, have expressed anger at the Railway Development Ministry and the Ghana Railway Authority for nonpayment of their valued lands used for the construction of the Tema-Mpakadan Railway line.
The landowners who are natives of Doryumu in the Shai Osudoku District in an interview with Soireenews.com stated that the ministry with their officials gave them their value six years ago, but have still not paid their monies to them.
According to the aggrieved landowners, some of them had their buildings at almost completion stage before their lands were taken for the Railway Line construction.
The victims have therefore called on the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to impress upon the Ministry and the Railway Authority to as a matter of urgent pay them their monies.
The victims lamented that they have been moving from one rented house to another with landlords fighting with them always.
The said lands are located in Doryumu, Kodiabe, LUOM, and other surrounding towns used for the Tema-Akosombo-Mpakadan railway construction.
