Skinpain Fun Club UK Donates To Appiatse Explosion Victims 

The Skinpain Fun Club UK, a Ghanaians’ Fun Club based in the UK has donated items to the victims of the deadly explosion incident at Appiatse in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality of the Region

So far, the victims have been receiving support from individuals, institutions, and NGOs to enable them to meet their basic needs.

The latest to offer such support to the victims is Skinpain Fun Club UK, a Ghanaians’ Fun Club base in the UK. They presented food items, water, detergents, among others to Appiatse disaster victims at Bogoso in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region.

The presentation is to augment the efforts by the government to put a smile on their faces and the World Food Programme (WFP), which also handed over 40 family-size tents worth about $20,000 to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to support the victims of last month’s explosion at Appiatse.

The items presented by the Skinpain Fun Club UK were worth GH¢44,000 and meant to minimize the impact on the victims.

Over 750 people, including children, who were part of those displaced by the explosion at Appiatse, have been relocated to the temporary camp at Bogoso-Kojokrom.

Over fifty males are also being housed at the Bogoso Golden Hotel.

The camp is temporary. They have built structures, erected tents, toilet facilities for both males and females, bathrooms and a pavilion kitchen has been provided.

Speaking during the short presentation, the Accra representative of Skinpain Fun Club UK, Edmund Adomako, explained that the reason for the gesture was to ensure that the victims are fed.

“We heard about the tragedy that occurred here. It is so disastrous but by the Grace of God, once you guys are alive here, we know that you take to heart and continue to pray to God to give you heart and move forwards”.

Mr. Adomako said, “We came here to present these to you to use it throughout your grieving period and as you use it, you continue to pray for members of Skinpain Fun Club UK for more”.

The items were received by the Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) director, Francis Abeiku Yankah, for onward distribution to the victims.
