President for Sunyani Stakeholders for Development Association, His Excellency Ambassador George Kumi has bemoaned the slow pace of development in the Municipality as expected.

This according to him is disturbing as other cities in the country are fast developing.

The former Ghana ambassador to Nigeria speaking at the inauguration of the Sunyani Stakeholders for Development on Thursday noted that the time has come for Sunyani to see facelift as it is lacking behind in development and growth.

H.E George Kumi revealed, the association is not aimed at enriching their pockets and their family, however, it is geared towards seeking answers to questions pertaining to development which is yet to be answered by authorities and managers of the city.

The politician is worried the municipality cannot boast of asphalted town roads to aid the proper movement of vehicles and citizen as compared to some municipality. He again added that the association is aimed at creating avenues for jobs for the teaming youth to reduce the growing unemployment rate in the country

Mr George Kumi again added, the association will again seek answers to reasons why the regional library which was started fifteen years ago is yet to see completion despite several calls by Nananom and stakeholders.

He however called on government officials in charge of development in the municipality not to see the association as enemy but rather a force to better lives in the municipality, charging them to collaborate with them for the betterment of the city.
