Small Nigerian Artistes Dating Big Ghanaian Artistes - Wendy Shay

Wendy Shay believes that female Ghanaian celebrities are selling themselves too cheap.

According to the Rufftown Records signee, any small artiste from Nigerian can just show up in Ghana and have access to the best female celebrities in Ghana.

She noted that the female celebrities have been making it easy for the Nigerians since every Ghanaian hope to penetrate the Nigerian market because of the amount of money that can be made.

Noting how some female celebrities have been sleeping around, she accused her colleagues of even having affairs with new artists in Nigeria because top stars in Ghana are not given the opportunity to even penetrate the Nigerian market talk less of dating their top stars.

The disrespect, she notes, is a result of Ghanaian artists not checking on themselves because they are not really doing well on the international stage.

“Our top stars not only musicians... all you see is an underground artiste from Nigerian comes and is dating a top female star in Ghana… I can’t mention names but it’s the female celebrities I’ve seen do that… It’s heartbreaking."

"I can’t mention names because if I do that, it will be like I’ve personalized the issue but it’s an observation I’ve made for some time now. Even the country as a whole, you’ll realize that we support outsiders than we support our own,”

This she said while speaking on Accra-based Peace FM.

Wendy Shay noted that since Nigerian top stars will not open up to date Ghanaian upcoming artistes, Ghanaian too stars should not date Nigerian upcoming artistes.

The Stevie Wonder’ further hitmaker bashed the 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards by saying some of the award winners on that night didn’t deserve their awards.

She concluded by opining that the awards show wasn’t fair otherwise some artists wouldn’t have won on the night.
