Take NPP Bribe Cash, It’s Your Own Money It Has Generated From Illegal Mining Activities—Agona East MP, Queenstar Sawyer
According to the NDC female outspoken politician, the goodies were bought with the billions the governing NPP has stolen from the people in the last seven years.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East Constituency in the Central Region, Madam Queenstar Pokuah Sawyer, has stated that Ghanaians, particularly eligible voters in her constituency must muster courage to accept the various goodies [money] the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will bring to them ahead of the 2024 general election.
According to the NDC female outspoken politician, the goodies were bought with the billions the governing NPP has stolen from the people in the last seven years.
These, goodies, she stressed were also being bought with the money the NPP government officials and appointees have generated from the illegal or unregulated small-scale and artisanal gold mining which is known locally as galamsey, a slang word derived from the phrase "gather them and sell."
She noted that the NPP government officials and appointees have actively engaged in the unregulated small-scale activities which have destroyed the farmlands, forests, and water bodies in Ghana.
She added that since the NPP government appointees themselves have actively engaged in these illegal activities, they deliberately looked unconcern for the lots of the country's farmlands to be destroyed by illegal mining operations and water bodies silted, polluted and contaminated which has brought water borne diseases to her people
The female lawmaker who doubles as the Deputy Central Regional Minister, urged Ghanaians to vote out the NPP as another four years under the NPP will mean more corruption, incompetence and suffering.
She stressed that “Because the NPP has not done any work, you will see that they don’t have a message. And so when we leave, in a few days or a few weeks’ time, the NPP will also come but they will come with propaganda and most importantly, they will come with goodies.
She indicated that the officials of the NPP will come with sewing machines, motorbikes, money etc, adding that 'My advice to you is that when they come collect the motorbikes, sewing machines and money and spend it well, well because this is your own money,” she said.
Continuing, she said that the “goodies of the NPP are obviously from money they should have used to make the lives of the people better but were corruptly kept through various schemes.
“It is only right that the people enjoy what has been denied them in the way of development. This is the money they should have used for your development so collect it because it’s your money, it is coming, you wait, you will see them bringing the goodies. Collect them because it is yours.
"That is the money they should have used for our roads, for our hospitals and the money that should have been used to subsidize fertiliser for you. They did not do that, they took the money and they are now trying to come to us with that same money to bribe us for us to vote for them. Collect it, it is your money, spend it well but vote for President John Dramani Mahama and her in the 2024 general elections.
She assured of the resounding victory for former President Dramani Mahama in the 2024 general election and called for God's protection and control of the campaign activities of Mr Dramani Mahama for him to achieve the desired goals to take Ghanaians from the current suffering under the political leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
"I am saying that by the grace of the Almighty God, Flagbearer of the NDC, former President Dramani Mahama would go to the contest in the 2024 general elections and that he would be declared the winner. Former President Dramani Mahama is going to win 2024 one touch. This time round former President Dramani Mahama is not going to loss the election.God forbid," the incumbent NDC female MP told the crowds.
Honourable Sawyer made these remarks
when she was addressing the chiefs, queen-mothers, youths, stakesholders and supporters of the NDC in her constituency when former President Dramani Mahama visited Agona East as part of his "Building Ghana Tour."
She stressed that the victory is ours in the 2024 general elections and that what need to push for this victory is how the rank and file of the NDC to be united and worked together as one family and team."
"That is the reason l saying that everywhere you are standing as the supporters, members and sympathizers of the NDC, you shouldn't think that you shouldn't be given goodies or fiscal monies before you would join the forces with the executives of the party to campaign massively for the NDC to win the 2024 general elections to safeguard our water bodies, environment, economy amongst others," she advised.
Honourable Sawyer pointed out that the current increasing rate of unregulated or
illegal mining activities involving the current NPP government officials and appointees which had polluted and contaminated the water bodies and environment had caused our mothers, fathers and children to fall sick who had no now become bedridden.
She stressed that it is the galamsey monies that the NPP government officials and appointees are using to pay bribe to influence you (eligible voters) to vote for them in the 2024 polls and that it is a high for voters to muster courage to ignore their lies.
"And that after deceiving you to get
your votes to win the election, the NPP would snubbed you whilst you have fallen sick or ill and that it is l, Honourable Sawyer would always comes to develop effective healthcare scheme to take full responsibility of your sickness," she noted.
She lamented that their checks have revealed that in the Agona East Constituency the major disease which is affecting a lots of people is diarrhea, saying that these people do not have any choice but to use the heavily polluted water from the River Pra, adding that the galamsey-polluted Pra River doubles skin diseases, diarrhoea cases in Agona East District.
“Because of the galamsey, my people can’t do anything about [the Pra River] It is dirty and so bad. Sometimes my people have to put alum inside before they can cook with it. It is the only source of water here. Our people use it to cook or wash dishes. Now my people can’t bath with it or wash our clothes because it is salty. We are saying the current government has lost the fight against the galamsey, we are hoping that former President Dramani Mahama would come to restore our water bodies," she noted.
She revealed that skin infections and water-borne diseases, such as diarrhoea, are on the rise in the communities with Agona East District, adding that "Currently, the skin diseases have increased dramatically.The diarrhoea cases have also risen."you
According to her, some people recently drank the polluted water from River Pra and had diarrhoea because of its poor quality, saying the the people in communities of the Agona East cannot live without drinking water from River Pra so they have no choice.
She expressed worry that the continuous unregulated or illegal mining activities in the River Pra, which have resulted in the pollution the Pra River, is having a devastating effect on nearby communities including the Agona East District.
The galamsey activities ongoing involving the NPP government appointees along the Pra River, compounded with the hidden operations of illegal gold miners around Daboase in the Wassa East District and beyond have resulted in the brownish colour of the Pra River, posing a danger to the people communities including Agona East District who depend on the river for water.
"I am encouraging all the residents in the constituency that when the NPP government officials bring the monies don't say l am a member of the NDC but collect the bribe monies from them and chopped and don't vote for them (NPP). This is because they gone their monies from the illegal mining activities that they are currently doing which are causing the residents to get skill infection diseases in Agona East District," she stressed.
