Tano North: NADMO to demolish death trap structures

The Municipal Coordinator for National Disaster Managementanisation (NAADMO) in Tano North of the Ahafo region, Mr. Kwabena Akuffo has given a notice of caution to the residents in various communities within the Municipality that, his outfit is putting the necessary measures together to demolish all the death traps houses in the Municipality including the deprived areas to avoid any disaster during this year's raining season.

According to him, the measures put in place to demolish the death trap structures were concluded last year and going to continue the exercise to prevent any further disaster in the Municipality.

He disclose this during an interview with Sorienews Correspondent after a heavy rainstorm that destroyed a lot of houses including the Old Assembly Block at Duayaw-Nkwanta over the weekend.

He used the opportunity to advise the residents in the Municipality to involve experts concerning the building of houses and other structures.

He cautioned that all death traps structures and buildings owners should get in touch with the Municipal NADMO officers to know the way forward concerning the demolition exercise.
