The South African government accused Ukraine's envoy of being "undiplomatic."

South Africa has accused Ukraine's envoy to the country of seeking an audience with President Cyril Ramaphosa using "undiplomatic" means in response to Russia's continued invasion of the eastern European country.

Ambassador Liubov Abravitova claims she was obliged to request a meeting with the president over Twitter.

She claimed that the South African government had ignored her repeated requests to meet with Mr. Ramaphosa and other ministers.

"I have not had any requested meetings with South African government officials since the beginning of the Russian invasion." "My folks are currently being brutally attacked by Russians," Ms. Abravitova wrote on April 10.

However, a senior official in the South African foreign ministry, Clayson Monyela, contradicted the envoy's assertions, claiming that she had already met with various government officials.

"You understand, Ambassador, that this is incorrect and undiplomatic. We've been requesting that HE Cyril Ramaphosa talks with your president for a long time. Mr. Monyela said on Twitter, "You are not answering."

"I don't only have no choice, I don't have time," the envoy defended her message. My people are being tormented and raped while they die."

The country voted no in a UN General Assembly motion last week that tried to remove Russia from the UN Human Rights Council.
