Bayern Munich repeated a dressed performance against an aggressive Olympique Lyon side on Wednesday night.

The Bavarians qualified to the finals of the UEFA Champions League after a 3-0 win – a brace from Serge Gnabry and a Lewandowski’s addon late in the second half.

Lyon started brightly but failed to punish the German side when they had the opportunity to, which looked like one scalp too many for Garcia's men.

Memphis Depay missed a clear chance in the 4-minute after Caqueret pounces upon a loose ball.

Thiago Alcántara passed and set his skipper scampering free up the middle. Depay took the ball in his stride before trying to round the onrushing Neuer. His eventual shot was just wide off.

The Ligue 1 side played with confidence as their long balls began to pay off. The pressed the Bayern defense with interceptive passes towards Ekambi and Depay upfront.

Ekambi hit the woodwork in the 17-minute after he was spotted by Dubois running. A slide-rule pass was sent towards him to round Davis just inside the box before hitting the post with his left foot.

58 seconds after Lyon hit the post, Gnabry broke the deadlock with a fierce left-footed drive following a mazy run. Collecting Kimmich's pass out on the right, the 25-year-old showcased his close control to cut inside, holding off a number of Lyon defenders on the way, before curling his shot inside the upright past a helpless Lopes.

The 25-year old doubled the scores in the 33-minute to take a breath. Bayern's incisive passing caught Lyon open and the goal scorer surged from midfield to pick out Perišić on the left. The Croatian's low cross was met by Lewandowski, with Lopes only able to palm the ball into the path of the German forward for a simple finish from close range.

Lyon came strongly in the second half yet Dembélé's second-half introduction added more menace to their after Depay's withdrawal. Manuel Neuer was at his peak to deny them from scoring a few glorious opportunities.

Coutinho’s inclusion after Sergi Gnabry’s exit brought much intensity in the Bayern team.

Lewandowski added a third two minutes to full time after evading his marker to meet Kimmich's perfect delivery from the set-piece out near the byline on the right, before thumping a delightful header just inside the post.

It was his 15th Champions League goal. He‘ll need two more to level Ronaldo’s record on Sunday against Paris St. Germain.
