The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Union Group of Companies Dr Augustine Opoku Agyemang at the official presentation to the beneficiary on Tuesday said he was moved to assist the student and many others because of his interest in contributing to the sectors that shaped the nation’s building.

In the quest to give Ghanaian students quality education and leadership skill, Union Group of Companies has announced a scholarship award to fully cater for the educational expenses of Ms Bonna Doris to study from the Senior High School level to the tertiary level including the cost of living allowance.

Ms Bonna Doris a student of Ola Girls Senior High School in the Ahafo region, who recently lost her father for unknown reasons was on the verge of dropping out of school when Union Group of Companies learnt of her story and went to her rescue.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Union Group of Companies Dr Augustine Opoku Agyemang at the official presentation to the beneficiary on Tuesday said he was moved to assist the student and many others because of his interest in contributing to the sectors that shaped the nation’s building.

“By investing in the educational development of the younger generation, the future of communities is secured and assured. So, I decided to extend the scholarship scheme to her because of the overdriving passion of the Union Group to reach everywhere possible, he said.

He opined that as part of their cooperate social responsibilities they have constructed various school blocks across the country while the Union Group has a mission of mentoring and empowering Ghanaian students in fulfilling their dreams to pursue graduate studies via access to fully-funded scholarships in world-class universities including the USA.

He averred that, as individuals, we must come to terms with placing a premium on human development than gathering wealth and resources which Union Group deemed fit to add its quota to developing a critical aspect of the society. We can only pray to God to continue to bless us with the requisite resources, he added".

Dr Augustine Opoku Agyemang explained that, with over 10 companies spanning diverse sectors, the Union Group of Companies is one of the most diversified holdings companies in Ghana with its biggest operations in Travel & Tour, Real Estate, Multimedia as well as Automobile and Transport among others.

He congratulated all the beneficiaries, advised them to identify their strength to guide them while choosing a career path in life and charged them to take their studies seriously in order not to put the effort of Group Union to waste.
