Vetting: NDC MPs reject Oppong Nkrumah, Hawa Koomson and Afriyie Akoto
The Committee could not arrive at unanimous decision for the three who were vetted on February 18, 2021.

The Appointments Committee of Parliament are reportedly rejecting the appointments of ministers-designate for Food and Agriculture, Information and Fisheries – Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Hawa Koomson – respectively.
Per a report by Graphic.com, the 26-member Committee could not arrive at unanimous decision for the three who were vetted on February 18, 2021.
Multiple sources close to the committee who desired to remain anonymous disclosed that the entire Minority members have unanimously rejected the three nominees.

They are among a total of 30 nominees by the President who have been facing the Appointments Committee of Parliament since February 10, this year.
Order 172 (8) of the Standing Orders of Parliament provides that where a nominee fails to get a unanimous endorsement by members of the committee, he or she is referred to the plenary for a decision.
