The wife of a traditional leader in South Africa was shot and killed by gunmen last month has been shot dead.

Charlene Mathews was allegedly attacked inside her house early on Tuesday, according to police in Mpumulanga.

Later this month, Clyde Mnisi, her husband, was scheduled to appear in court to answer to allegations of participation in rhino poaching.

In relation to the alleged poaching, additional people, including active and former officers, one of whom worked in Kruger National Park, are scheduled to appear in court.
