Woman found dead in a bush at Obuasi

The Herdman disclosed that to his surprise it was an old woman with yellow rope on the neck who has been dead for months and rotten.

Residents of Sampsonkrom in the Obuasi East District were in a state of shock after they discovered a dead woman hanging in a bush close to a playing field.

An old unidentified woman in her 50s was found dead hanged in a small forest at Sampsonkrom senet.

Some residents close to where the incident occurred shared with soiree news that, a few weeks ago they saw the woman hunting for leaves to cure her grannies sickness.

A young man who rears cattle close to the area blew the whistle of the sad story, on June 18, 2021, that a woman was hanging on a tree in the bush.

Inhabitants narrated that they all went there to find the identity of the said being, only to realize it was the same woman they saw a few weeks ago.

Ojigi, an eyewitness who explained the story to Yaw Opoku Soireenews correspondent, said he woke up on Friday, per his normal routine to hunt for leaves to feed his cattle but saw something strange hanging on a mango tree so he went close to find out what exactly it was.

The Herdman disclosed that to his surprise it was an old woman with yellow rope on the neck who has been dead for months and rotten. 

He then alarmed residents and went back to the community to report the case to the Obuasi Police command.

He added that the woman is not known at Sampsonkrom or close to any of its environs.

"We are therefore calling on any family or individual whose family member is missing to come identity if it is deceased," he appealed.
