Whatever you post on the internet has a footprint and therefore will never vanish, a fellow with the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation has said.

, according to Mr. Gabriel Ofori Appiah, internet postings either tend to endanger or upgrade reputations.

Organized in partnership with O Africa,the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation at the e-Ananse Library seeking to sensitize participants of young generations to be cautious of their postings on the internet.

The participants were students from Preset Pacesetters Senior High School, OAfrica foster mothers, Alumni of OAfrica and youth from the community.

In addition, Mr. Appiah disclosed that the internet footprint could serve as a basis to deny a person of major travel opportunities, and may cause credibility defects.

He was addressing students from Preset Pacesetters Senior High School last Saturday, January 27, 202,,4 on the dangers of posting nude photos, and videos on social media platforms.

Mr. Gabriel Ofori Appiah further intimated that not only will unscrupulous individuals manipulate nude photos and videos for dehumanizing activities online, but may also tarnish one's image.

Mr. Appiah added, "You may either be married spiritually unknowingly or the nude(naked) image could be used for money-making or to defraud unsuspecting individuals unknowingly".

He strongly cautioned parents to desist from handing over phones to their children at the least cry. He explained that children in their attempt to navigate on the phone log into sites that are forbidden to watch at their age.

Those images from such sites, Mr. Appiah noted could influence children's minds thereby causing them to do the unthinkable.

He cautioned that some games have elements of pornography and demonic tendencies therefore warning parents to discontinue the practice.

Revealed that many young people face abuse and bullying on the internet therefore are traumatized.

The situation, he said will prevent the children from learning good things they ought to learn therefore depriving their development.

On his part, Mr. Francis Anipah, a Social Work Consultant at O Africa, alluded to the fact that internet users need help.

He said the threat faced on the internet is multifaceted and needs a collective approach to remedy.

Much as children need to be protected from online bullying, mature ones also need to be protected from fraudulent activities.

Highlighting measures put in place to protect children at galamsey sites, the main project being championed, he said his outfit's effort must be complemented by like-minded organizations.

He strongly believes that the issue of children being used at galamsey sites for prostitution must take a concerted National Security approach to combat.

"One organization's effort may not be enough to mitigate this generation-threatening canker, therefore, a call for all hands to be on deck to fight in protecting children", he appealed.
