According to the church members, after the death of their late leader of the Church, Superior Prophet David Nkansah II, about a year ago, the family of the late leader have been litigating with the Church and its leaders over the selection of the next successor to lead the Church.

The Members of the African Faith Tabernacle Church popularly known as (Odifo Nkansah Asore) are accusing the District Chief Executive for Atiwa East District in the Eastern Region, Honourable Kwabena Panin Nkansah, who is the Chairman of Atiwa East District DISEC for using security persons to intimidate the church members of any attempt they want to have a program at the Church National Headquarters and Mission House at Anyinam in the Eastern Region.

According to the church members, after the death of their late leader of the Church, Superior Prophet David Nkansah II, about a year ago, the family of the late leader have been litigating with the Church and its leaders over the selection of the next successor to lead the Church. 

Meanwhile, the Family head of the late Prophet's family, Opanin Ampadu and the DCE, Honourable Kwabena Panin Nkansah, who is a relative of the late leader have always been using the policemen and other security officers to intimidate and harras the church members in their headquarters premises.

At a press conference by the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Church, Chief Pastor Jacob Kwesi Rockson said, the church leaders have been denied the opportunity to hold their first National General Meeting with the leadership of the Church at their headquarters premises.

He added that the Church members are peaceful and loving people who abide by the law of the land so they will continue to remain calm but if care is not taken to enforce them, they make sure to apply any reasonable force to occupy their headquarters and mission house.

The PRO, therefore, appeals to the IGP, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, the Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry and other authorities to intervene to avert any unfortunate incident.

In addition, the National Youth President of the Church, Chief Pastor Ebenezer NkansahTwum Barima also explain that the leadership of the Church has chosen a leader in the person of Chief Pastor Stephen Frimpong Nkansah, which must be respected and accorded him the power invested unto him to lead the Church.

He added as a church the family has no right and authority to choose any leader for the church to lead them since a leader of the Chuch it is not an inheritance.

The indigenous spiritual church, which was founded in the year 1919 and is now more than 100 years old but can not be headed by a person who is not even a member of the Church to lead them.

Speaking to the allegations, the Anyinam District Police Commander, DSP Raymond Mahama Iddrisu has refused the allegation and said, the police and DISEC have planned to maintain peace in the area hence their decision to deny the Church members to hold their meeting on the premises.

He added that the police and the security will work around the clock to ensure peace is maintained in the area to avoid any possible clash.
