The Songhai National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheik Abdul Malik Rahman Maiga has stipulated that people should stop referring to money ritualists as Mallams.

He said ritualists and Mallams have nothing in resemblance when it comes to the Islamic Religion.

The Songhai National Chief Imam said, emphatically that a Mallam in Islam means a teacher but not someone who exchanges body parts for money or something else.

He said a Mallam propagates the word of Allah but does not kill as people think.

As result, the general public should understand that the so-called Mallams who specifically do double money and blood-shedding is not recognized in Islam as Mallams.

His comments arise after the Kasoa teenage killers of a 10-year-old boy Ishmael Mensah blamed their act on a ritualist (the killers called Malllam) they spotted on TV who ordered them to bring human head for money.

The Songhai National Chief Imam has urged the government to strengthen the security system in the country.
