Akrofuom SHTS begs for conducive learning environment, MP gives them assurance

Students of the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School have stressed that they are facing a lot of challenges in regards to water, security, and infrastructure.

The girls' prefect of the school, Sarah Boateng in an exclusive interview with Soireenews correspondent Yaw Opoku said their source of water for daily activities is located at the boys' dormitory which is a worry to them adding that students of 60 in number are forced to learn from a single classroom instead of the average 30  due to lack of infrastructure.

According to Sarah, the situation is upsetting and impinges on their teaching and learning.

 
The boys' prefect of the school, Amo Daniel Owusu has also pleaded with the government to assist teachers in the school with accommodation to avoid late attendance in class.

He concluded by saying due to lack of enough food, they are sometimes fed with the same meal consistently for a whole month which is a threat to their health.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for the Akrofuom constituency, Honourable Alex Blankson has organized a one day summit for the students dubbed life after SHS. The main aim behind the gathering was to engage the students to make the right choices after completing SHS to ease hardship in their lives.

He told that a lot of challenges has been identified in the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School which, he, the Member of Parliament will put in place to curtail.

He added that generally, the education system in the constituency is worrying but all is not lost because strategic plans will soon be putting in place to combat the challenges regards to education.
