Delegates are urged not to vote for Chairman Wontumi by an Assembly member.

Mr. Charles Asare, Assembly Member for Mpasaso, has encouraged New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to vote out the party's Ashanti regional chairman for abandoning government-awarded road networks.

Speaking to the media, he claimed that Chairman Wontumi, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, had abandoned their road networks, among other things, causing dissatisfaction among many people.

Mr. Asare mentioned the Mpasaso to Asuako road, Bayerebon road, and Amansie road networks as examples of abandoned road networks.

Since the abandoned road networks, the Assembly Member who also serves as the party's Mpasaso No2 Primary "A" voting station organizer said that he is unable to campaign for the party because the people are irritated.

Mr. Asare claimed that he and other members of his party met with Chairman Wontumi and the Ashanti regional minister, who promised that more construction machines would be imported to build the road networks, but that the roads have yet to be built.

As a result, he urged delegates in the region to show Chairman Wontumi the door because his continued presence will undermine the party's chances in the 2024 general election.
