Cantonment Police Intercepts Weapon Hidden ln Food For Inmate
The weapon was contained in two packs of 'papaye' labelled fast food to be served on a robbery remand prisoner in cells.

The high vigilance of a police officer on duty foils attempt to smuggle a firearm and ammunition into cantonments police cells in Accra by a lady.
Briefing the journalists on the matter in Accra on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, DSP Afia Tenge stated that on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at about 4: 45 pm, a young lady aged about 23years, with Nigerian accent, came to the charge office with two packs of 'papaye' labelled fast food to be served on a robbery remand prisoner in cells.
She stated that when the food was carefully inspected by the duty officer on duty, a locally manufactured pistol with one cartridge was found concealed in one of the packs with the food covering it.
Unfortunate, the female police officer asserted that the lady managed to flee the scene.
According to her, strenuous efforts are underway to trace and arrest the lady.
