For Immediate release
May 14, 2023
APPRECIATION FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CONDUCT OF THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL AND PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES
The Constituency Executive Committee will like to express their profound gratitude to all stakeholders, members and sympathisers of the great NDC in the Constituency for a very successful presidential and parliamentary primaries held at the Roman Catholic Primary school park at Battor-Dugame.
It was a great success because you were more than willing to make it happen for which we are extremely grateful.
The support of the National party, Regional representatives, Cadres Constituency Elections Directorate, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Battor and Kekpo-Manya Wards, Electoral Commission ( District Office) , the Security services led by the Ghana Police Service and many more stakeholders whose names have not been mentioned here can not be underestimated, your invaluable contributions made the day a great success of which we are so grateful.
We cannot  end this appreciation without mentioning the galant presidential aspirants who offered themselves to contest to bear the flag of our great party to victory 2024, but for them there will not be primaries, same as the hard working Member of Parliament (MP), Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who went unopposed.
The primaries ended up with former President, H. E John Dramani Mahama obtaining 1,365 votes, Honourable Kojo Bonsu obtaining 1 vote and Dr. Kwabena Duffour obtaining 0 vote and a total rejected votes of 4
To all the above mentioned stakeholders, there was a free, fair, transparent and peaceful primaries because, you opted to act professionally and we have not taken that singular act of yours for granted.
Now that elections are over, the biggest challenge ahead of us is to quickly regroup, iron out our differences if any and strategize towards the bigger picture; election 2024 with unity at the centre of our dealings.
In fact, the overwhelming endorsements of 1,365 votes representing 99.9%, that we gave H.E John Dramani Mahama will just be a waste, if we don't work extra hard to replicate same during the 2024 general elections.
We urge all of us to forge ahead with oneness of purpose to make victory in the next year's presidential and parliamentary elections a reality.
C. K  Akaho-Tay
Chairman for North Tongu Constituency.
