"This afternoon, it has been confirmed that six members of RCD Espanyol de Barcelona's first-team squad and coaching staff have received positive results in the COVID-19 tests, which were carried out over the last few hours," Espanyol's statement read.

"All of them are suffering from mild symptoms and they are complying with the medical recommendations."

Espanyol stopped all of their activity on March 13 and their players have in self-isolation in their homes ever since.

However, it is not ruled out that the number of infected players will increase in the coming days, because the squad had been in contact with one another until a few days ago.
