Ghana’s vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will attend the big game between Ghana and Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff this evening at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Dr. Bawumia is on an official visit to the Ashanti Regional capital and has decided to visit the stadium to lend his support to the Black Stars in their quest to demolish the Super Eagles.

His presence is expected to inspire the Black Stars to secure a convincing win.

Ghana will play the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a crucial World Cup playoff for a place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Former Black Stars players like Asamoah Gyan and Michael Essien have called on the team to beat the Nigerians.

In a rallying tweet, Asamoah Gyan said the nation is fully behind the team and they should go on and make the nation proud.

The Black Star's all-time top scorer said the team has to come out and play like wounded lions to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku described Nigeria as "babies pretending to be big boys” ahead of the tie.

“It’s that time of the year where every Ghanaian will have to stand up and be counted. It’s that time of the year where our country’s pride is at stake,” Okraku told Joy Sports.

“It’s that time of the year where Ghana must be at the Mundial, but before we do that, we have a common foe, the Super Eagles of Nigeria. They come across as our babies, but they pretend to be the big boys.”

Sunday Dare, Nigeria's Sports Minister, previously stated that the Super Eagles "will beat the sh*t" out of Ghana. Speaking to the Super Eagles' technical staff on Wednesday morning, he stated that Nigeria will not accept a draw.

“We’re not going to play a draw in Ghana, honestly. We’ll beat the shit out of them,” Dare said in a video that has gone viral.

“These guys should just go out, there’s insurance to their next match. There’s insurance there and there’s insurance here.”

Ghana has a better head-to-head record than its West African counterparts and has not lost to Nigeria in over 16 years.
