Divisional Fire Officer Grade 3 of the Ghana Fire Service(GNFS),Fifi Oppong, has advised Ghanaians to put safety measures in place at home and workplaces to curb reoccurance of fire outbreaks. He also cautioned that care must be taken in the management of fire at home and workplaces to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

He gave the caution in an exclusive interview days after fire outbreak in Tema Community 2.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com,he urged the public not to delegate the responsibility to put out fire into their own hands since they do not have the experience. He added that taking the law into one's hands in putting off fire could be dangerous and demands special skills therefore the need to get in touch with the Ghana Fire Service in time. He stressed the need for Ghanaians to have confidence in the Fire Service as they have been given the needed training to combat fire in our community. He asked public to desist from accusing fire men of deliberately coming to fire scenes with no water thereby causing lose of lives and properties. He urged Ghanaian to collaborate with the Fire Service to work in serving the general public better.
