Ghana @65 Savulugu MCE Charges Residents to Pay Tax

The Municipal Chief Executive of Savulugu, Hajia Ayishatu Seidu has appealed to residents of the municipality to help straighten the tax net of the assembly.

According to her, the development of the Municipality can only be effective and sustainable if residents pay their taxes as required.

In her address at the 65th independence day parade in her Municipality, Hajia Ayishatu noted that tax is the engine of development for advance countries.

She further charged the gathering to offer constructive ideas to the assembly in order to improve the living condition of the citizenry and the area at large.

She called on civil society and the private sector to also assist the Municipal Assembly in its developmental agenda.

She appealed to civil servants in the municipality to stay committed at work and not abandon their responsibilities.

Hajia Ayishatu further lamented the rampant open defecation in the area, stating that the situation had made the municipality to score zero in Northern Region Open Defecation League Table.

She therefore tasked all landlords in the area to construct a household toilet to help change the narrative of the Municipality
