The Sekyere Central acting District Chief Executive (DCE), Honourable Kwadwo Banahene has debunked claims of him performing abysmally in office.

A group called "Concern Citizens" of Sekyere Central made claims and threw shots at the honourable member that, "his performance in office as the District Cheif Executive is very appalling."

According to the legislature, circulating news indicating that he has performed poorly is a calculated and orchestrated attempt by some people because of their parochial interest to underrate his high performance in the District.

Hon. Banahene hinted at some infrastructure development that has been done under his leadership to access the District which makes him deserve another opportunity.

Doris Boakye, A resident of Sekyre Central spoke to soiree news, she said, "I'm surprised people are saying Honourable Banahene has performed poorly, how can someone who has done so much more in a few years than  what someone couldn't do in 8 years be called incompetent?"

"He has completed a new health facility with aid from the government in the area. He has helped reduce the unemployment rate in the district by recruiting most of the youth in the NABCO Program. He also assisted some of the residents to be employed in Zoomlion we, therefore, plead with the President to maintain him as DCE for the next four years ahead," she added.

A driver in the community also threw his weight behind the honourable saying, "the road was in such a bad state but with the involvement of Honorable Banahene, there's a contractor working on the road as we speak, it's only left with tarring which he's working on seriously."

He lamented "with the influence of Honourable Banahene, directors from the DVLA office came to the town council and registered most of the 'Abobo Yaa' drivers for their license."

"A very nice school building has been put up during his term in office but due to the selfishness of some people, they're trying to paint him black. I support him and I pray Nana Addo re-appoints him especially because he is down to earth and listens to everyone no matter who you are."

According to some of the residents, people are tarnishing the image of Mr Banahene because of his loyalty.
