The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman of the Bortianor-Ngleshie -Amanfro Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Mr Paul Ibrahim Baako, has insisted that his promise of finding a lasting solution to resolve the long- unending land boundary dispute between the chiefs in the communities within Ga South Municipality and people of Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region if he was given the nod to become the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga South Municipal Assembly is not a mere political gimmick.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Soireenews today, the NPP staunch member who is the government appointees of the Ga South Municipal Assembly stressed that it can easily be done by him.

According to him, once he was born and bred and lived all his life in Ga South Municipality he can settle any pressing issues between the two traditional areas.

He asserted that he knows the means and ways to use to settle the issue which is creating tension and confusion between the two ethics groups.

"We have so many problems concerning our boundaries issue between the people of Awutu Senya East which has stretched from the Langma, Tuba, Domibra and Amanfro communities, it was where we share a common boundary with the people of Awutu Senya East and that, as the Municipal Chief Executive if you did understand the real issue concerning the boundary and chiefs come to you as MCE to prevent the people of Awutu Senya East to lay incursion on their boundary, you might feel that the chiefs are disturbing you.

“But if you are a local boy like me who stays with the people and generally understand the boundary issue between the two traditional areas and also knows that the issue has become a matter of importance to the people of Ga State, you have to ensure that the government intervene by way of finding a lasting solution to this long unending boundary issue.

So l have the technical know-how to bring this issue to an end when l am appointed the new MCE of the area," Mr Baako further assured.

He disclosed that the areas which fall within the administrative jurisdiction of Ga South Municipality which was set up in 2007 are Okoman, Odunkwa, Ashalaja, Kwame Anum, Obakrowa, Krohohwe, Hobor, Adiembra, Asabade, Ngleshie Amanfrom, Torhuse, Iron City, Amanfro Top, Amanfro Kingtown and Machigeni.

Others are Galilea, Omankope, Tomefa, Workers Brigade, Bortianor, Old Aklaku, New Galilea, Galilea North, Tsokomey, Faajimore, Wiejoshie and Shiayena.

According to him, although the government was doing well by way of improving road networks in the area, he was quick to state that when appointed the new MCE, he will do more to ensure that all the deplorable roads being fixed within the electoral areas with the Ga South Municipality.

He further promised to fix the drainage systems in the area which will go a long to stop the flooding of houses when it rains.

“We know in Ga South Municipality that there are no proper market centres and the traders have to travel from Accra to Kasoa market to buy and sell which situation does not help them in any way.

“There are no busy markets for the traders to buy and sell in Ga South Municipality apart from the Malam Junction Market which even falls within the Weija-Gbawe Municipality.

“I am very close to the chiefs and queen mothers of the area and l will advise them to make land available to start building a proper market centre for the people of Ga South Municipality," Mr Paul further emphasized.
